Nice read, minus the gibberish that Paul Kelly spews.
Klauss: “It felt like the systems he helped build to protect children were unraveling, the pendulum swinging against his life’s work.”
Nobody twisted your arm to start a misguided and misdirected crusade to witch hunt a segment of society to avenge your daughter’s death in the first place. All these child safety advocates need to find a way to make peace with their losses and find a way to live with it and stop projecting their hate and vengeance!
“All of a sudden, for people who were supposed to be punished one way or another for long periods of time, it’s all well and done,” Klaas says
Even the people fighting to keep the registry know it is punishment. It’s time for the Supreme Court to accept it’s intent was punishment regardless of what legislatures claim.
Now everyone says it is punishment.
I think those lawyer should quote all those lawmakers saying that “those are PUNISHMENT”! it is right there on white paper and black ink. (black and white)
I appreciated article, but felt like punching a hole in a wall after reading that idiot Kelly’s comments. I bet he’s one of the under reported crimes he’s talking about. Nothing worse than a self rightous cop in a position of influence.
